HCG Diet Instructions

Although the HCG diet is an extremely effective weight loss program, it is very strict and there are several key HCG diet instructions you must follow in order for the diet to be 100% successful.

There are a series of in-depth guides available on the following pages.

For the busy though, here is a summary.

The HCG diet instructions are as follows:

  1. Read the Dr. Simeons HCG diet protocol – Pounds and Inches – this will help you to understand the science behind the world’s most successful weight loss program.
  2. HCG drops are the best way of losing weight and scientific studies have consistently shown that taking six drops of HCG hormone, six times per day, is the best way of ensuring you have the correct amount of HCG hormone in your system.
  3. The correct way to take the HCG drops is to use the dropper provided and place one drop beneath your tongue, but do not swallow for fifteen seconds. Although you are allowed to eat immediately prior to taking the HCG drops, you must avoid food or drink for between fifteen and thirty minutes after taking the HCG drops.
  4. Read the HCG diet list of allowed foods so you know what is safe to eat while on the HCG diet.
  5. For days 1-2, begin taking the HCG drops and eat anything you like. Ideally, try and consume as much fatty food as possible, for example pizza, burgers, bacon, sausages, and cream. This will help reduce the hunger pangs over the next few days as your body becomes accustomed to the very low calorie diet.
  6. Begin the very low calorie diet phase of the HCG diet and stick to “phase II” foods.
  7. You are safe to take the HCG drops for between 23 and 45 days. Avoid taking the HCG drops for any longer than 45 days—if you have not reached your target weight, you must include a maintenance phase between HCG diet cycles.
  8. The very low calorie diet must be continued for 72 hours after the last dose of HCG to allow your body to excrete the last of the hormone. Weigh yourself on the morning you take your final dose of HCG—this will be your Last Dose Weight and it is the key weight you need to stick to during the maintenance phase.
  9. Phase III of the HCG diet (the maintenance phase) should be followed for between three and six weeks after the final dose of HCG hormone. Sugars and starched must be avoided, but calorie intake can be increased in line with the phase III instructions.
  10. Should your weight increase by more than 2Ibs during the maintenance phase of the HCG diet, do a “steak day”. If your weight falls more than 2Ibs, eat more food.
  11. Once you have completed phase III of the HCG diet, reintroduce starch very slowly, but monitor your weight closely.
